KODAS 2025: A Global Stage for Korean Defense Exports
KODAS (Korea Defense & Aerospace Show) 2025 is a specialized consultation event for Korean defense exports organized by KOTRA. As Korea's defense exports reached a record high of more than USD 17 billion in 2024, the profile of KODAS has also risen sharply. It is one of Asia's largest defense export consultation platforms, bringing together Korean defense companies and buyers from more than 40 countries across four major segments: weapon systems, C4I, naval defense, and aerospace.
Four Core Defense Segments
KODAS 2025 is organized around four major segments: weapon systems, C4I (command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence), naval defense, and aerospace. The consultation agenda is concentrated on areas where Korean suppliers have developed clear global competitiveness.
| Segment | Participating Firms | Key Products | Global Competitiveness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon Systems | 50 | K9 howitzers, K2 tanks, small arms | Global Top 10 |
| C4I | 35 | Communications equipment, radar, electronic warfare | IT-based strengths |
| Naval Defense | 30 | Submarines, frigates, surface vessels | Rapid export growth |
| Aerospace | 35 | FA-50, KF-21, UAVs | Strong cost-performance ratio |
Buyer Consultation Program
The buyer program at KODAS is jointly managed by the Ministry of National Defense, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and KOTRA. Procurement officials and defense representatives from multiple countries are invited to participate in one-on-one business meetings, demonstrations, site visits, and technical seminars with Korean companies.
Bangladesh Defense Demand
Bangladesh is increasing defense imports as it advances military modernization programs. Korean defense products are attracting strong interest from Bangladesh's Ministry of Defense because of their cost competitiveness and Korea's willingness to discuss technology transfer. A Bangladeshi defense delegation is expected to participate in KODAS.
