Korea Build Bangladesh 2025: Construction and Building Materials Exhibition Guide

Bangladesh Construction Market and Korea Build Exhibition

Bangladesh's construction sector accounts for approximately 8% of GDP and has sustained annual growth of 9–11%. Multiple large-scale infrastructure projects are simultaneously underway — the Dhaka Metro Rail, the Padma Bridge, the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, and the Matarbari Deep Sea Port — while an urbanization rate of 40% is generating explosive demand for residential and commercial construction.

Korea Build Bangladesh is a dedicated Korean construction materials and interior exhibition co-organized by KOTRA and the Korea Federation of Construction Industry. It provides the most direct access to Bangladeshi construction buyers and offers an optimal platform for obtaining government project tendering intelligence.

Construction Buyer Profiles

Bangladeshi construction materials buyers fall into five major categories: large construction companies, real estate developers, import distributors, interior design and architecture firms, and government procurement agents. Understanding the procurement patterns and decision-making structures of each type is essential for developing effective proposals.

Five-Stage Exhibition Participation Process

A step-by-step preparation framework for Korea Build Bangladesh participation. Utilizing KOTRA support programs significantly reduces participation fees and logistics costs.

Five-Stage Exhibition Participation Process
1. Application
Confirm KOTRA recruitment announcement
2. Buyer Matching
Pre-event matching via KOTRA Trade Center
3. Products & Certification
BSTI certification and price sheets
4. Exhibition & Consultations
On-site 1-on-1 meetings
5. Follow-up & Contracts
MOU to formal contract conversion
01
Stage 1 — Application and Subsidy Confirmation (D-90)
Check KOTRA overseas exhibition recruitment announcements and apply online. SMEs are eligible for 70–80% participation fee subsidies, partial airfare and accommodation support, and complimentary interpreter assignment. Applications to separate support programs from the SME Export Support Center and the Korea International Trade Association should be submitted concurrently.
02
Stage 2 — Pre-event Buyer Matching (D-60)
Provide the KOTRA Dhaka Trade Center with target buyer types (construction companies/real estate developers/import distributors) and product categories to receive pre-matching with 15–25 buyers. Sending English-language catalogs, FOB/CIF price sheets, and installation case photographs to matched buyers in advance builds buyer interest before the event.
03
Stage 3 — Product and Certification Preparation (D-45)
BSTI certification is mandatory for certain building materials categories (tiles, sanitary ware, electrical cables, cement, etc.). Participation is possible without certification, but buyers will invariably verify certification status on-site. Calculate the landed cost at CIF Chittagong port incorporating customs duty (CD: 5–25%) and VAT (15%).
04
Stages 4–5 — On-site Consultations and Post-show Follow-up
Execute MOUs during 1-on-1 consultations over the exhibition period, then dispatch thank-you emails and formal quotations within 48 hours of exhibition close. Intelligence on government project tenders (LGED, RAJUK) can be sourced through the KOTRA Trade Center. KOTRA's three-month post-exhibition support program is available after the event.
