2026 Entry Strategy New Format: What Has Changed
KOTRA's Dhaka trade office is introducing a new format (New Format) for the 2026 country entry strategy report. Moving away from the primarily narrative-based reports of the past, this next-generation format emphasizes data-driven analysis, visualization, and actionable recommendations — designed so that Korean companies can immediately apply it to real business decisions.
The New Format is based on KOTRA headquarters' standard template, localized by the Dhaka trade office to reflect the unique characteristics of the Bangladesh market. The key differentiator is that Bangladesh-specific issues — LDC graduation, special economic zone investment, and digital transformation — are addressed in dedicated sections.
8-Section Structure
The New Format comprises 8 major sections, each designed to function as a standalone reference. A separate table of contents and executive summary are provided for each section, allowing companies to selectively reference only the areas most relevant to their needs.
| Section | Title | Key Content | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Country Profile | Political, economic, social, and cultural overview | Existing (revised) |
| B | Macroeconomic Analysis | GDP, inflation, FX, and fiscal quantitative data | Existing (enhanced) |
| C | Industry Deep Dives | SWOT, market size, and outlook for 10 key industries | Existing (expanded) |
| D | Trade and Commerce Environment | Tariffs, non-tariff barriers, FTAs, LDC graduation impact | Existing (revised) |
| E | Investment Environment and SEZs | FDI, EZ/EPZ/BEZA, incentives and practical guidance | New |

Key Differences from the Previous Format
Four Analytical Frameworks
The New Format applies four standard frameworks consistently to provide a multi-dimensional analysis of the Bangladesh market. Each framework combines quantitative and qualitative data to support a comprehensive understanding of market conditions.
Data Collection and Report Authoring Process
The New Format report is produced through collaboration between Dhaka trade office resident officers and local staff, following a structured process of data collection and verification.
| Data Type | Source | Update Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| GDP and Macroeconomics | Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) | Annual |
| Trade Statistics | Bangladesh Bank, EPB | Monthly |

Guide for Companies: How to Use the Report
