MRT Line-2 Project Overview
MRT Line-2 is a core corridor in Dhaka's Mass Rapid Transit network, running along the city's north-south axis. The project is being implemented by DMTCL (Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited) and is regarded as a key infrastructure response to Dhaka's severe traffic congestion.
The line includes underground sections, which differentiates it from MRT Line-6, an entirely elevated route. As a result, the project will require TBM tunneling technology for the downtown underground section, creating a clear opening for Korean firms with urban rail construction experience.
