Case 17: Overview of Potential Buyer Discovery for Pulse Power
Pulse Power is a Korean manufacturer of pulse power equipment that requested KOTRA Dhaka to identify potential buyers for entry into Bangladesh's power and energy market. Bangladesh treats power infrastructure expansion as a top national priority, and demand for power equipment is rising rapidly with new power plant projects, transmission and distribution modernization, and early smart grid deployment. Pulse power technology, which uses high-voltage pulses in industrial equipment, can be applied across welding, surface treatment, medical devices, and environmental treatment.
Demand for Power Equipment in Bangladesh
Bangladesh's installed power generation capacity stands at roughly 28,000 MW as of 2025, and the government aims to reach 40,000 MW by 2030. This has driven large-scale investment in new plants, modernization of legacy facilities, and expansion of the transmission and distribution network. As a result, import demand for industrial power devices, including pulse power equipment, continues to increase.
