KOTRA DX Innovation Lab Project 3 is an AI-based export consultation matching support system. It automates the buyer-company matching process that trade office staff previously handled manually, significantly improving both matching accuracy and speed. By combining text similarity analysis with collaborative filtering algorithms, the system identifies the best fit between buyer demand and the export capabilities of Korean companies. More than 50,000 consultations are matched through this platform each year.

Matching Algorithm: A Three-Stage Automated Connection Model

Export consultation matching follows three stages: text matching, profile matching, and optimized ranking. AI analyzes buyer requests for quotation (RFQs) alongside Korean company product information to generate the most suitable company-buyer combinations automatically.

Text Matching
An NLP model analyzes text similarity between buyer RFQs and company product descriptions, extracting 100 candidate matches.
Profile Matching
The system scores suitability using 30 profile variables, including company size, export experience, certifications, and production capacity.
Optimized Ranking
A ranking model trained on historical match outcomes recommends the final top five companies.
Consultation Scheduling
The system automatically schedules consultations by accounting for calendars and time-zone differences.
Outcome Tracking
Consultation results such as deals, holds, and rejections are tracked and fed back into model retraining.

AI automatically analyzes buyer-submitted RFQs. It extracts key information such as product type, volume, specifications, delivery terms, and budget, while also auto-mapping HS codes to improve matching accuracy.

The system supports matching one buyer RFQ with multiple Korean companies or linking a single company with multiple buyers. It can also structure consultations in a competitive bidding format.

Real-Time Consultation Support
Matched consultations are supported in real time with AI interpretation, automatic product information translation, and price comparison tools. An AI assistant for trade office staff records key points during meetings.

Performance Tracking and Model Learning
All consultation outcomes, including deal value, follow-up consultations, and rejection reasons, are logged automatically. This data is used to retrain the matching model, improving accuracy each quarter.

Export Consultation Matching for Bangladesh

At KOTRA Dhaka, the AI matching system automatically pairs Bangladeshi buyers with Korean companies. As of 2024, the system generated 268 matches involving 134 Korean firms, and 35% of those matches progressed to actual deals. Match success rates are especially high in RMG raw materials, machinery and equipment, and IT hardware. Bengali-language RFQs are also handled through AI translation, reducing the language barrier.
