Detailed Sector Analysis

01
Cosmetics and Beauty: Strong validation of K-Beauty demand
Cosmetics was the largest participating sector in BTS, with more than 40 companies. The core products included skincare items such as cleansers, serums, and creams, as well as color cosmetics and sheet masks. Meetings involved 15 buyers from Bangladesh, 12 from India, and 20 from Southeast Asia. With a 35% conversion rate, the sector posted the strongest performance among the four, confirming the resilience of K-Beauty demand. Buyer preference for halal-certified products was roughly 40% higher than for standard items.
02
Machinery and Equipment: Led by larger B2B contract potential
The machinery and equipment segment centered on industrial goods such as machine tools, packaging systems, injection molds, and industrial pumps. Contract sizes typically ranged from USD 50,000 to USD 500,000, the largest ticket size among the sectors. This is directly linked to Bangladesh's ongoing factory modernization in garments and its growing demand for food-processing automation. Twelve Bangladeshi buyers joined meetings to assess garment factory equipment, food packaging machinery, and construction-material processing systems.
03
Textiles and Apparel: Bangladesh's highest-interest category
As the world's second-largest apparel exporter, Bangladesh has substantial import demand for textile and garment materials. Bangladeshi buyers showed particular interest in Korean functional fabrics such as moisture-wicking and spandex blends, garment accessories including zippers, buttons, and labels, and textile dyes and chemicals. Eighteen Bangladeshi buyers participated in this sector, the highest count among all categories, and most were procurement managers from large garment factories.
04
IT: Rising demand for digital transformation solutions
The IT segment covered SaaS platforms such as ERP, CRM, and logistics management tools, as well as IoT solutions for smart factories, security systems including CCTV and access control, and hardware such as servers and networking equipment. Although the 22% conversion rate was the lowest among the four sectors, the segment offers larger deal sizes in some cases, especially through annual SaaS subscriptions, and stronger recurring-revenue potential. Demand is expected to expand further as Bangladesh invests more aggressively under its Digital 2041 agenda.

BTS remains one of the most efficient channels for direct consultation with overseas buyers visiting Korea. Across all four sectors, participation and interest from Bangladeshi buyers were meaningful, underscoring the expansion potential of Korea- Bangladesh trade. Companies that align their preparation with sector-specific buyer needs and make full use of KOTRA's pre-matching support are in a stronger position to turn BTS meetings into concrete export business.
