765kV Transmission Line PGCB Project Overview
The 765kV transmission line project is a high-voltage line construction program implemented by the Bangladesh Power Grid Company Limited (PGCB). Its core objective is to upgrade the existing 230kV/400kV network to 765kV and secure high-capacity power transfer while strengthening grid stability.
Bangladesh's power demand is increasing by about 8 to 10 percent annually, and grid bottlenecks in transmission are increasingly severe as generation grows. The 765kV ultra-high-voltage corridor is therefore a strategic infrastructure step to resolve transmission bottlenecks at the system level.
